Metropolitan Ministries: Thanksgiving Food Drive

Metropolitan Ministries is a volunteer-fueled community nonprofit in Tampa Bay providing food, housing, education, and a variety of other services to help homeless and at-risk families. Their services help over 32,000 men, women and children all year round, no matter how serious their situation. In 2018 alone, they served over 1.5 million meals, provided almost 200,000 nights of safe shelter and helped 20,000 kids get toys throughout the community!

During the holiday season, Metropolitan Ministries goes above and beyond with their Holiday Tent and Thanksgiving food drive to help feed over 22,000 families in need. This year, they anticipate helping even more! With five drop-off locations and one enormous Holiday Tent, this year’s Thanksgiving food drive is expected to be one for the books.

The Metropolitan Ministries Holiday Tent is a place for people in the community to donate food, toys and prayer to those in desperate need. More importantly, the Holiday Tent provides an opportunity to build community trust and come together to love one another. 

The location of this year’s tent has been changed to make room for growth! The new site of the big white tent is just west of the Hillsborough River at 2609 N Rome Ave, Tampa, FL 33607. 

From November 1-27, the volunteers at Metropolitan Ministries’ Holiday Tent will be accepting non-perishable foods and holiday items for families in need of a Thanksgiving meal. 

Epic Specialty Staffing has been working alongside Metropolitan Ministries for over 10 years, supporting their efforts by hosting an in-office food drive on their behalf. We encourage everyone in the Tampa Bay community to give back this holiday season either through donating food, money or even just their time to help make a difference.
